Each county in Jeeeeorgia has a "Skunk Ape." Be it a large hairy man, or the actual real deal.
I've camped on site many times now in the past two years and the only wild life that has gotten near me are farby armadillos. We've heard farby coyotes around and there are some dawgs that come arond too. Wildcats can be found on site as well.
Deer and squirrels abound and we saw some bear turds. No grizzlies of course, but the typical black bear type.
We did find and old moonshine still onsite. Skunk Ape most likely congregates there. The skeeters and scorpions might make an appearance if Jimbo looks hard enough. Other than that it is typical Jeeeorgia fauna.Herb Coats

I think many of us get nostalgic about the past and like to think somehow that the world our mid-19th century ancestors lived in was free from many of the "sins" of our present world. Truth is, the more you study the past the more you realize that there's really nothing new under the sun. They struggled with many (most) of the same problems we do today.

Epic... The North Georgia Skunk Ape turned out to be an Epic Hoax.
The Skunk Ape is the mascot of Company D of the 11th Ga Militia Regiment. My company's (Co B) mascot is the ubiquitous Wildcat.
When touring New Hope Church, Dallas, and Pickett's Mill keep your nose working. There have been many Skunk Ape sightings in Paulding County.Herb Coats
