    Eric-

Just wondering... if what you say is true, then...

Those of us carrying a Henry rifle with either march with our longarm bayonet on our belt or do without the benefit of a valuable tool (candleholder, fire poker, tent peg, ration cooker/stirrer, makeshift digging device, etc.) in the field... would a bowie knife or similar device a be allowable for us in this case even without documentation?

Had to ask... I don't want to carry a bayonet for a longarm if I have a repeater (unless that was the way it was done historically- which I can't find docs to support this). ;)

I'm looking forward to seeing these Repeaters in action. Were folks able to get Spencer rifles in significant numbers for the event?

My Spencer is a itching to get out and go a "bummin"!

Not to sidetrack too far, buy speaking of the Spencers, I noticed with the blanks that the magazine only fits 5. They are the brass blanks from Joe Swanson. I thought the mag held 7? Anybody else notice this? With the 7 round mag, can they go 7+1?

Not to side track, but you might just have to fiddle with the magazine some to get it to sit in right. I haven't seen what you're using for blanks, but they have to be shorter than the original rounds with bullets. I used a pards Spencer carbine and found that you just had to monkey with the magazine and it would fit 7...but just wait till you go to shoot the thing and they gum up in the works!

                Take care,

Nah, we are definitely on the same page Bob. I am the column guide for the WIG and Tripp, so I expect this to be a real good time. But I was with Tripp at Rich Mountain (guide there as well), and when he died, all heck broke loose. Some of it was down right funny.

I knew you were Ken, but couldn't resist LOL. Sometimes being the guide can be the best part, watching reactions, knowing what is coming and such. Can't wait to see you all soon.

                          RULES OF ENGAGMENT:

Just bumping this thread back to the top. EVERYONE who is attending needs to read the Rules of Engagement closely. We will review further details with officers on Friday, but for everyone else, this is the information that you NEED to know.

                          HERE ARE YOUR MAIN OBJECTIVES:

For the Federals, your primary objective is to find food. PERIOD. A distant second is defending yourselves because of the hostile terrain you travel in.

For the Militia, your simple goal is to harrass (not defeat!) the Federals. Capture as many as you can but no heroic charges, no massed assaults.

For Citizens - Hide your food and stay alive.

For Wheeler's Cavalry, see Militia Goals.

                          Thanks!

                            Eric,
Does this mean burninating the countryside and the peasants, a la Trogdor, is right out?

Bumping this thread one last time. Please read the Rules of Engagement carefully. We will cover final details with the officers at 7:30 PM on Friday. All officers for both sides are required to attend. If for some reason, you cannot make it, please make sure and have someone attend in your place.

By this time tomorrow, all of us on the Event Staff will be on-site or enroute. Bottom line is that if you have any final questions, ask them now!
