Just wondering... if what you say is true, then...
Those of us carrying a Henry rifle with either march with our longarm bayonet on our belt or do without the benefit of a valuable tool (candleholder, fire poker, tent peg, ration cooker/stirrer, makeshift digging device, etc.) in the field... would a bowie knife or similar device a be allowable for us in this case even without documentation?
Had to ask... I don't want to carry a bayonet for a longarm if I have a repeater (unless that was the way it was done historically- which I can't find docs to support this). ;)
