Looking over the guidelines, I know the Jefferson Boots are perferred, But mine are pretty worn out, I have a pair of Camp shoes from Robert Land. They have been broken in and look nice. Is this exceptable for the event? Or should I just wear the worn out, nails poking through the inside souls, small on the feet brogans! :D

Re: Shoes!
Shelby,
Was going to Bummers but can't because of new work schedule. That being said, your "posting" caught my attention and since I'm in a chatty mood; here are "my" thoughts. 1) According to the Official Bummers website in the uniform guidelines section for the XV Corps, first choice for you and others is the "government issued brogans". But, your second choice is "citizen or military style shoe". I would think that would answer your question. 2) I'm curious about one thing though. If your CW footwear is in such bad shape, why wait 'til now, ( 11 days from the event), to "correct" that issue? Quite frankly, sounds as if the fellars at Bummers will be doing a good deal of walking/marching. If your brogans are "painful" to wear beyond a "living history" venue, then I wouldn't risk it at this event. One thing's for sure, you don't wanna spoil a premiere time with a "foot" issue. Okay...I'm done.John Marler

Re: Shoes!
Preciate the info gentlemen, and to answer your questions there John, I have been meaning to get some new shoes, but truth be told other things come of priority. Vehicle maintence and such for me. They pretty much went to hell after the 2008 gettysburg main event, did a lot of walking there and hell the shoes were about 6 years old so yea.Shelby Hull
