Announcement regarding Bummers

It is with much anguish that I must announce that Ezra Barnhouse Goods will not be at Bummers. As some of you know, John has been ill the past year. Last week he developed a severe cough which turned out to be pneumonia. He has been in the hospital since Wednesday and it looks to be a few days till he is released. I have gone back and forth trying to decide if I should attend on Friday in order to honor our commitment to our customers. However, it is a full day drive down & then back and I feel that I cannot be that far away from John for 3 days when he is so ill. To everyone who inquired about merchandise that would be for sale there, we are so sorry to let you down. John & I have always prided ourselves on standing by our word, especially when we committed to attend an event. We feel however, that you all will understand and will continue to place your trust in us.

Beth, I was just getting ready to send you the email we discussed yesterday when I saw your post. I know your decision was difficult, but I'm sure you made a wise one. Your commitment to John is far greater than the one you made to us for Bummers. And, if anyone knows Ezra Barnhouse, they know you have always abided by your commitments. This time is certainly an exception and the folks in this hobby certainly do understand. Family comes first and friends and especially Brothers know this best.

We will miss you both, but we know your heart is in it.

I will second what Brother Hicks has said...as I'm sure I couldn't say it better.

Although I feel we are all extended family, it is (of course) the best thing to stay with family when they are in need.
