  • CS Company for Into The Piney Woods

    Comrades,

The "Into The Piney Woods" event is less than six months away. It may seem a ways off but it will come up faster than you might think. I am raising a company of men from the western states for the Confederate battalion at IPW. I want to invite anyone who is interested to fall in with us. At BGR in 2007 we had soldiers from California, Washington, Colorado, Idaho and Utah. Please feel free to contact me for more information. I am willing to help recruits in any way possible for this fine event. We are going to portray the 28th Louisiana Infantry and more information can be found here:

I hope to see you there.

    Best regards,

    Bill,
Let me be the first to volunteer. You can count me in the "raw recruit" category. I hope to muster with the 1st Texas soon and get some of the green removed.

Bill and his men came from great distances for BGR and we are humbled to have them returning again for Into the Piney Woods!

For those from the far-flung western territories- sign up! You won't regret it.

Gear can be loaned. Attitude and willingness cannot.

Indeed Brother Russ, the Jaybirds will be attending in full strength along with their known "dander" in attendance to boot.

The Bayou Yeti and I like western folks. They make good soldiers. So do Brits and even those French fellows that told me Paris wasn't in Texas.

                Uncle Tom,

If you folks would open up registration fairly soon, some of us in the Bayou Yeti Fan Club & German Shorthair Pointer Benevolent Society would likely register and get on with it. Seeing how those of us in the east are so far removed from the actual seat of the war as well as any battles that greatly affected the outcome of said unpleasantness, we'd like to get a head start on the snail mail. After all, these letters have to cross at least one set of big scary mountains and a few known wide waterways.

                  Uncle Tom,
The Brits and the French (plus possibly some Germans and Dutch) are coming!!!!! For BGR we raised some 14 recruits to run the Yankee blockade. For ITPW we hope to exceed that number and I'm hoping for 20. Can't wait to be with y'all again.
                  Warm regards,
