  • Federal Wing Commander

I am sad to have to announce that Doug Cooper will not be able to attend the event at Piney Woods this year. His knowledge and personality and proffesionalism will be sorely missed by all.
However I am proud to announce that John Wickett will be taking his place. John is an exceptional Living Historian and a fine officer. He has served with me in Medich's Battalion for many years and knows the workings of a battalion in the field.
    Welcome aboard John!
    Cheers

But can he work with that Bastard of a Sergeant Major that you have on your staff at Piney Woods?

Glad to see Mr. Wickett come on board.

      Mr Hicks,
I dont know of the Bastard Sgt Major you are refering to Sir. The man I selected as my Sgt. Major is one of the finest, most honorable upstanding and exemplary men I have ever had the priveledge of knowing and working with.

Wick is no doubt one of the best living historians I know in this entire hobby through almost 2 decades of exposure to it!

          Gents,

Thank you for your confidence in me. Serving as wing commander for Mr. Sorchy will be a new experience for me, but I really enjoy opportunities like this that test my skills. I will be working hard to get ready for this event, both mentally and physically, so I can do my part help the men of our battalion have a great experience at IPW.

As Pat mentioned, this will be my 20th year in the hobby... Time flies when you're having fun!!!

            John,

Congrats! You'll do an excellent job. Let's celebrate our 20th together as we kick off chasing those Rebs across LA!

            Good Luck!

              Re: Federal Wing Commander

The single most disappointing event thing so far for me in this hobby (21 years) will be missing IPW. Real life is keeping me on the shelf this Spring, rather suddenly. I will miss being with great comrades in the truest test of soldiering yet devised.

But I will be back for the rest of the year including Bummers.

Wick, no way on 20 years. When did you start in this hobby? 10 years old?

As long as Wickett does not bring the Vicksburg heat and that chicken woman then everything will go according to plan. It'll be good to see you again JW. I'll be in Capp'n Mustache's company a IPW.
