  • When's everyone heading out?

I'm leaving West Texas at 7am or so on Sunday...plan on arriving onsite with three others at around 7 or 8p Sunday evening. I'm just wondering when everyone else is heading that way.

I've been doing the Mitch Critel pre-event ritual in preparation for the event. This entails: eating fettucini alfredo for all four meals everyday for the week leading up to the event, drinking nothing but energy drinks with a condensed milk chaser, and watching the Blue and the Gray everynight before bed to get me ready.

I suggest everyone else do the same....especially the Blue and the Gray marathon, it'll prepare those of ya'll who didn't make BGR for what you are about to witness firsthand in Kisatchie.

    Wanted.

All ladies in Houston and surrounding counties who have cloth on hand, which they can spare, are requested to donate it to the ladies of Crockett for the purpose of making petticoats for the Minute Men of this county, who have "backed out" of the service. We think the petticoat more suitable for them in these times.

Myself, Jake Wickham, David Cravensm, Sam Cruikshank, Homer Keen, Dan Chmelar, Robert Gobtop and the Field Marshal himself Terry Sorchy are leaving the Hawkeye state at 10:00 AM Sunday. We look to arrive in LA around 3-4 AM Monday morning.

Personally, I'm leaving about 5:00 a.m. Sunday and the first contingent of Taters plans to be on site around 7-8:00 sunday night.

We love getting to an event a day early and get dressed out. This way when the event steps-off, you look more settled and like you have been on campaign instead of unfolding the jacket and just stepped out of the car.

Airborne on Monday afternoon and arriving late Monday evening... I'll waltz into camp with my lantern in-hand.

From the looks of the weather, I'll be wearing my oilskin too. Only for good measure, though...

                  Re: When's everyone heading out?

About midnight Friday. Depends on when Caleb, Will, Rob and Billy arrive at The Bunker. As we drive through the rump of the People's National Socialist Republic of Maryland, God's Country (both Virgininias), and some other states we'll be sadly pointing to the sides of the road saying "XYZ lives about here, but he's a sweet little stay at home man." Chuckles will follow. Oh, you know it, but someone has to populate those Wooly Worm Fests and Tractor Pulls with Encampments & Skirmishes.

I remember an "event" where it rained for three weeks straight. Uncle Sam provided us with some fine raingear courtesy of some CIF somewhere. That poncho was simply outstanding for a good 20 minutes.

Time to bank some sleep. Later.

I have been down there since Terry called me to tell me the impression was going to be 24th Iowa. That was 2007.

Let's see. The event goes live at first light Monday. I guess I need to head out about 5 Monday am. No, that's not true. Baker is bringing the hogs down from Arkansas in the back of his truck and we will be busy slaughtering and preparing this week-end so you boys will have something to eat.

                              Tom,

You could cause quite a panic without some clarification about your statement.

I hope you mean that the event goes live Tuesday and you will be onsite Monday.
