Wow. Awesome event. EVERY part- EVERY moment. Even the worst moments were wonderful learning experiences that I will always remember fondly. It filled my heart and soul to near busting with admiration for the REAL soldiers and folks who endured so much. We all enjoyed a rare opportunity to experience a small taste of it, and it was beautiful. One of the best weeks of my life. And somehow we got out of picket duty. Sweet.
Tom and Fred, along with all the other unsung heroes in the wings who pulled off this event again with flying colors, in the face of adverse situations, deserve our highest praise. A hearty CONGRATULATIONS and THANK YOU to all!
Obviously the weather put a damper on the post-event activities, such as the preservation raffle, meeting the authors, and also selling the ITPW T-shirts.
Jay Stevens and I stuck around for a good while at the Cane Camp exit to accommodate as many folks as possible during the exodus, and the awesome General Brent Brumagin graciously offered to be my emissary, and drove some tees over to Lotus Camp to accommodate the Federals.
We eventually had to leave, knowing there would be folks, soldiers and civilians alike who wanted a tee but were unable to get up there in time, as well as the teamsters, cavalry, etc. who had animals and equipment to tend to.
So anyone who did not get a tee, please contact me here on the AC, or on the ITPW web site discussion forum, or e-mail me at dhadley@gfsiinc.com and we'll conduct business via the USPS.
Again, a reminder that these tees are only available to registered participants of ITPW. Fred Baker will provide me with a list of registered participants. If your name is not on that list, I will not sell you a tee.
Thanks,
Dan Hadley
