I am curious as to how much control the officers were supposed to have at this point. The event was over...how long after an event does a pretend officer's authority extend?

I agree.

Those who step up to leadership positions for events, whether to organize, or to lead a battalion, a company, a platoon, or a squad, take on a piece of the responsibility for the event. I'd prefer to see constructive criticism, rather than back biting.
