Perryville Living History: May 2010

For your consideration:

The Jacks N Tens will be hosting a Living History at Perryville Battlefield May 07-09, 2010.

Impression: 105th Ohio Infantry (Two companies of 50-60 men each)

This will be a very interesting impression. The 105th was a new regiment when they arrived at Perryville and were stuck in some of the thickest fighting on the field. The guidelines will be strict in that they will not provide a lot of secondary options for your kit, but they should not be hard to fulfill.

I do not have a ton of information to drop on you at this point, but a website and some specifics are forthcoming.

Jim, talk to some of the GHTI guys for more info. I know the 105th Ohio was portrayed by one of the two campaigners battalions under Dom in 2002. Good choice!

I'm interested, and I am in Metcalf County, it is an easy drive for me. I am not sure where you'd like to use me, I have a wagon and four oxen.

The website for the event is now up and running, yet still under construction.

Right now, linked is a brief historical scenario of the Kentucky Campaign, impression guidelines, contact information, and directions. I encourage those of you interested to have a look at the information currently available. As I stated initially, the impression guidelines do not include a wide variety of choices. We are trying to achieve a "uniform" look as much as possible due to the fact that the 105th Ohio was only mustered into service barely two months before the Battle of Perryville.

As time passes, more information will be available on the specific 105th Ohio impression, regulations to particpate, event structure, registration, bibliographical information about the battle and 105th Ohio, preservation/support efforts, and bully buys.

To participate, everyone must meet the impression guidelines that will be enforced at the event. I recommend that as a good place to start for anyone that may need to pick up an item or two. You have 18 months from this point to gather any loaner items or purchase anything you may need.
