Gents,
This is our second update on the upcoming "With Pick & Spade - 2010" event at Petersburg in May 2010. Registration is now open. Visit the event webpage linked below to register. We hope to see many of our pards from the AC in attendance!
"With Pick & Spade -2010" is a semi-immersive living history where the participants will be portraying Confederate Engineers during the early stages of the Petersburg Campaign. Using period tools and techniques, the participants will construct siege implements from the Civil War Period that were used by both sides during the 9 month siege. These implements will consist of chevaux-de-fraise, abatis, gabions, fascines, entanglements and a skirmish pit. Implements we build will be utilized by Petersburg National Battlefield to improve the fortifications exhibit at Stop #3. Come prepared to work hard!
