It is hard to believe, but the month of April is drawing to a close which means that With Pick & Spade is only 12 days away! We have a listserv up and running, so if you are on the registered list but you haven't signed up the below is from the latest update. You can sign up for the e-mail list serv by visiting the Registration Page. Enjoy:
Conditioning - It certainly seems like after a long winter that summer has come
to Central Virginia rather quickly. It would be advisable for each of us to be
getting outside walking and conditioning ourselves to being outside in warm
temperatures. Next week will also be the right time to begin hydrating
yourself. Layoff the soda and other 'sugary' drinks. You'll be drinking lots of
water at the event, so get used to it before the event! We don't want to lose
anyone to heat exhaustion.
Schedule - The event will go live at 9PM on Friday. We need everyone to be
on-site at registration no later than 8:30pm. The battlefield is not exactly
surrounded by the best suburbs around, so we'd recommend everyone be on-site at
registration before dusk. Directions and instructions for arriving after dark
on Friday are on the website. Stay tuned more information to come.
Impression Guidelines - Please read through the impression guidelines on the
website. If you have questions about the guidelines now is the time to ask.
There will be a brief impression check at registration.
Work Day, Saturday, April 24 - As you can imagine an event like this one
requires an insane amount of pre-event preperation. We will be holding the
final work day at Petersburg National Battlefield on Saturday, April 24. If you
are local to the area and can spare a couple of hours, please contact Brian
McPeters at brianmcpeters@verizon.net.
We'll see you in the trenches in less than 2 weeks!
Thanks,
Brian McPeters
