  • Get off your tails and register!

    Folks,

Anyone on the fence about this event needs to hop down and register.

The site is great and the Brian and Skip are two fine men. One is retired military and the other is active-duty. They are soldiers who conduct themselves accordingly. They deliver what they promise.

Tom Yearby and I attended the "Fighting Withdrawal" event on this same site a few years back. It proved to be a guiding force in how we planned Banks' Grand Retreat and Into the Piney Woods. Fighting Withdrawal vets, as well as fellers who attended BGR and IPW should think strongly about attending.

    Regards,
    Fred Baker

I'm currently living "Down Under", but I'm hoping and praying that if I hold my mouth right, my wife might let me use my frequent flyer miles to make a trip back to the States for this event. Will be especially nice, since I have family nearby(Paris, Tennessee). I'm in training now, just in case......

              Amen to that.

Those that have been to A Fighting Withdrawal, BGR, IPW and who survived the death scare that was Bummers are folks who are keen on campaigning and love living a slice of a soldier's life.

A fellow looking for more of the same would be well-served to dash his registration and payment off for Backwaters.

I have marched, shivered, sweat, and soldiered with the guys putting this together. They are damned fine folks who put together damned fine events.

You mean there are people who haven't registered yet for this?

Thanks for reminding them Uncle Tom and Cousin Fred.

Some folks will be having rock withdrawals by March, and as I recall, Tennessee has rocks.

Sent mine in a couple of weeks ago. So did two other Hairy Nation Boys. We are ready for a good campaign.

Also excited to visit Ft.Donelson after the event. Lets hope for a mild winter so we Iowans can walk outside to get ready.

So is this event supposed to be better or worse than Bummers? Will there be water? What about food?

                            I can honestly say..

                            1) The terrain will not be as harsh.

                            2) The distances covered will be longer.

                            3) Water will be staged. We are planning on an average of 5 gallons per man (at an average of 4 canteens per gallon.... that should provide for one canteen worth of water for every two hours at the event... and no... the guides will not have trouble finding the water!).

                            4) Each Orderly Sgt will be provided with purification tablets in the event they can not reach the staged water.

                            5) Food will be issued per Army regulations (as best we can with modern equivalences) at the start of the event. The men will be issued two days worth of rations. The event ends on Sunday.
