This event will be more in line with the two first Outpost events held in North Georgia in 1999 and 2000 than the last Outpost event. We are currently looking at a couple of different locations. The site will determine the exact impressions and scenerio. Look for more details soon.
      Tripp,

Do you have an actual date or site nailed down as yet?

Re: WIG & SCAR Outpost Style Event

We have a tentative site in North Georgia near Rome. Herb, Jim Butler, and I are going to visit the site next month to verify it will work. The site itself is over 1,000 acres and belongs to a member of the Armory Guards.

The terrain is very similar to the area around Chattanooga. So we will most like base the scenerio on Bragg's siege of that city. More details will be forth coming once we do a little more research.

As to a date, We have not set anything is stone since we still are working to secure the site. But we are still looking at the end of September or first of October time frame.

With Resaca over, I and the staff will be focusing on pulling this together. I promise to keep everyone posted as we move forward.

Okay, we have a date set. The event is being planned for Sept 10-12, 2010. The Scenerio is the period between Chickamauga and Missionary Ridge. The Confederate side would portray Cleburnes men on the right end of the Confederate line. Federal portryal has not been determined yet. More details to come soon.

Re: WIG & SCAR Outpost Style Event

The site was tentatively suggested as "near Rome, Ga". Is that a final answer or do you need to use a lifeline?

Do more NMP events !!!!! They provide the best spectator opptys.....The Bummers type event is grest but it isnt geared for those who enjoy watching a historically accurate event.

I kind of agree with Chris there. I think the folks in Georgia should take a look at what people are doing up in Virginia and start having bridge events that are hosted by campaigners and have obtainable standards. It would be way better than the campaigner adjuncts that are like putting lipstick on a pig and will give the public in Georgia the opportunity to get a glimpse of the Civil War as it was instead of the corn dog, turkey shoot, tractor pull, car show and Civil War ol' timey hoot n' hollar that plague's this state.

I have fond memories of facing the Critters at the Outpost II and TAG events. Now it would be great to have y'all on the Blue side of things! Anyways, I know I would like to see you mounted fellas there.
