Here is an Event Update for the 'Struggles of Secession - Westville, GA 1863' event as of 5-17-10:
- We stand at 90 paid registered participants. Don't delay in getting your role approved and getting registered asap.
The list of registered participants is updated at www.strugglesofsecession.com click on the 'Registration' tab.
- Replicating period documents that include CSA Discharge papers, Surgeon/Sick Leave papers, Tax in Kind documents, etc, continues.
- "Notes" have been created, printed, sorted.
- Head of Households selected and issued guidelines.
- Fri and Sat Tour schedules written.
- Major vigenttes written and coordinators contacted.
- Article titled 'Struggles of Secession' being written, but not completed yet. This article will help set the tone for the event.
- Cooks and Meal preparation plans are tentatively scheduled.
- Census data and Infantry Rosters an on-going tool when setting up roles.
- Yahoo Group for registered participants up and running with moderator.
- Military Provost guidelines and duties outlined with Robby Mitchell.
- Unique Goodwill tokens purchased.
- Individual Goals/Rewards being written, but not yet completed.
- Hospital, Court House, Provost, Boot Shop, Munitions Factory, Conscription Agency, Relief Agency, black market, Banking, Brokerage, Cotton Gin, Tavern, Boarding House, Church, Wood Shop, Boot Shop, Ambrotypist, General Store are all planned with coordinators in place.
Here are some critical roles we still need filled:
- Men to play Boot Shop workers.
- Men to be full-time Homeguard (civilian clothes)
- We need a Butcher (who will basically be the event Quartermaster to issue rations).
- We need a CSA Impressment Agent.
- We need a Tax Collector.
- We need men to play Deserters. (civilian clothes and/or ANV uniform).
- We need women to play Munition Factory workers.
- We need qualified Docents to lead tour groups on Fri & Sat (10-4).
- People to volunteer to do a period tableaux, reading, music for 5-10 minutes to help build our amateur show for Fri and Sat evening.
