Red Shirts

I am hearing allot of people talking about the trim for their red shirts. Spoke to a guy yesterday who "might come out with the 2nd MS" who said he had a red wool shirt, but he just had't decided if he cam how he would "trim it out."

The standards say this:

All other companies should wear a solid red wool flannel shirt with one white star on each collar. The shirt may have pockets or not, styles can vary, and really any red wool flannel shirt is acceptable. Individual company commanders are encouraged to talk to their respective company to try to reasonably attain a uniform look in the style of red shirts.

My understanding is that we want a shirt like this:



Am I correct?

Some folks are thinking along the lines of a trimmed red battleshirt I believe, and I am concerned we may get folks showing up with all sorts of crazy trim and kill the "uniform" appearance.

I would say we should stick to what was put out: Individual company commanders are encouraged to talk to their respective company to try to reasonably attain a uniform look in the style of red shirts.

I know that 1 company has decided as a whole to do a unique documented red shirt, they are all going to have this shirt and I encourage this. If the company commander approves the shirt then he has my blessing. I am encouraging company commanders to be the filter on this ensureing that they want a uniform look in their company. This is all per the research. Red Shirts with optional stars, extra trim is on a case by case basis and up to the commander. Hope this answers your questions and clarifies a little better if there is confusion.
