  • 2nd Miss Drill Pictures

Just a tease to put out to the masses from this past weekend. We had men from 3 different companies and staff. Weather was great, but we will expect the heat to be turned up in July.

Sky Meadows is a great site, and we were allowed use of the cabins on the premise. Options for commanders to use this site as early as weds prior to the Manassas event in July.

Y'all looked great at Carnton. Almost made me wish I could make the Manassas event.

Some of the Far west Ponitoc county men are going to meet to sew shirts next month in Ellis County Texas - Also we will debate the relative merits of the 1816 conversion vs the 1842 muskets. It would be fun to make a trip to the range, but playing with muskets is always enjoyable...

In that last photo, it's not that Skip off kilter, the hills at Sky Meadows are really quite steep. So much so that if you’re not careful, you can easily fall and break your leg… I should know.

Rich, is your leg going to be better for July? I also heard that those hills have a tendancy to encourage people to wrestle and eventually lead to breakage of legs, arms, ect!

The site was great to practice Skirmish drill, we were able to see the effect of mass troops advancing and how rolling terrain allowed manueving commanders maximum cover on an advance.

                      Skip,
I’ve started physical therapy and hope to start running again by the time Picket Post rolls around. Seeing as this is a public forum and accessible by the great Commonwealth of VA, my insurance company, employer and most importantly my wife, I have to reiterate that it was a hill and there was no alcohol involved.
