The core of this company has worked together many times and has developed a track record of operating very well together as a company. More than once we have been given compliments from other companies/groups on how well our impression was while incorporating all three legs of the stool. This event the bar will not be lowered! If you have not received an email from me already and want to be in this company please contact me.
This company is to have the uniform look Matt is looking for. It is very strongly preferred that everyone goes with the first item listed in each category of the guidelines.
Mandatory for this company will be:
Sack Coat
Dress hat with the left looped up with the Eagle**
**Each enlisted man in this company will be issued the eagle for their hat. This will be a thank you for your quick and dedicated enlistment with Company K.
A drill before the event is already being discussed for Company K. The early plans have it at Historic Fort Wayne, Detroit in February. Cold and wet are accurate to the history. This location was used as a training camp at that time and should be no more than about 5 hours away for most of the men. We would be staying in the 1848 barracks. We will be incorporating history from Boyd’s diary during February 1862. More important than the drill is this will create direct first person experiences with each other to draw from during the Shiloh event, based off of the history.
It is all about the experiences that are created and I do believe we do a bully job of doing so!
