Thanks for posting this. I have been reading the Illustrated Atlas of the Civil War, part of the Echoes of Glory series of books, and it can be hard trying to piece together how the battle happened from static illustrations.
I would love to see animated maps like this for other Civil War battles!

There was an individual out there in the land of the interwebs back in '06 that was creating animated maps. He had done a great one of Shiloh and one of the Battle of Midway. I'll look and see if I can find the link now, but it may be lost. I thought it a worthy project, and my wife used the Shiloh map in her social studies classroom. A great asset for students, whether in a classroom or on here, who are visual learners, and aren't we all to some extent?Warren Dickinson
