  • 2012 EBUFU Events

    Hello Everyone:

In the interest of continuing to look forward on the schedule, I have gone ahead and created this folder for 2012. If you are thinking about putting together an EBUFU event for 2012, please start a thread here so all of us can see how things start coming together. As we have done with other folders, we will determine folders for "Max Effort" EBUFU events as we get closer to 2012 and see how the calendar starts coming together.

So, stake your claim now if you plan to do an event in 2012. The best time to work out confliction is to do it when events are still on the drawing board.

Anyone else have an event they are thinking about? Many events start two years ahead of time, so if you have an idea, why not float out that trial balloon to see what folks think about your idea? Never hurts to think ahead. ;)

      Gents,

For what it's worth, I'd like to see campaigner pushes for events in 2012 that correlates to its 1862 counterpart for the 150th. Regardless of whether there for independent hardcore events or strong campaigner battalions at larger events, I would hope to see 1862 events receiving the attention and big push from campaigners at large. The same would be true for events as we move through the 150th commemorations.

That being said, I believe a Peninsula Campaign or Sharpsburg event for the East and a Kentucky Campaign event for the West would peak interests.

      Best Regards,
      Dan Gidick

Here's your Kentucky campaign event, albeit two years early ...

              Gents,

Glad to hear that things are in the works. Just wanted to voice my support for good 1862 events for 2012.

I am glad to see that the c/p/h side is already planning some quality events for the 150th cycles. The fact is that many of the 150th Civilwarapaloozas are not going to have any semblence to anything accurately historical. As a result, I feel it is really important to have a different and better selection on the menu for folks that take history a bit more seriously.
I think the series starts out right with "Prevent the Effusion of Blood" in Jan 2011.

I know that we are getting MUCH better about this, but in all the terrific history-heavy events.. let's remember to include civilian impressions every time they are appropriate to the scenerio. We spend as much time getting our impressions together as you military types do.. and we yearn for events that are history-heavier too, just as you do.. and neither side gets a "true" experience of the war without the cooperation and support of the other side.

                    Folks,

My apologies for the delay, but...
Folders for the 2012 EFUBU events are set-up. I would ask organizers to alert me to threads (alert button) that need to be moved to one of the folders.

                    Again, sorry for the wait!

                    Thanks!
