All,
While this event is a considerable time off, I wanted to go ahead and get it on some folks minds. While I certainly enjoy what the EBUFU events have to offer, I think it's time this side of the hobby got back to some basics. After some communication with the commanders of the event, I was granted permission to put together a Campaigner Battalion. If you are interested in raising a company of at least 25 men for this effort, please feel free to contact me.
SPECIAL CALL TO MUSICIANS- In conjunction with our effort Robert Melville has agreed to put together a fife and drum corps. A website with further information will be out soon, complete with some unit histories, guidelines etc.
Dates: March 31 to April 2, 2012
* Identified unit impression- "Bloody" 6th Mississippi
* Impression guidelines based on historic data- Currently working to develop the guidelines. However, it will be in line with most early war guidelines (IE- Frocks, civilian attire, homespun garments etc)
* Established organization and structure with reasonable goals for numbers- The Event Hosts (Cleburne's Division) has given the Independent Rifles the opportunity to raise a regiment for this event.
* Traditional EBUFU activities: Rations will be issued, battalion drill, guard mount etc. details are being worked out with the overall organizers but we are going to be used "heavily" throughout the weekend.
