150th Anniversary of the Battle of Fort Donelson.
Fort Donelson NPS has allowed us to host a Sesquicentennial event February 10-12 2012.
John Walsh of Fort Donelson Relics and myself are the host and contacts for any questions.
We will be representing Col. Head’s brigade which included the garrison units 30th Tenn, 49th Tenn and 50th Tenn, Water Battery Heavy Artillery, Maury's Tennessee Battery Light Artillery. With this said we have an opportunity to drill at the Water Battery with almost a full compliment of soldiers. I don’t think this has been done since the war.
The other part of our program will be retracing the movements of the brigade after the River attack.
Limit-100 man limit
Guidelines- Uniforms, weapons, accoutrements and tents will be discussed at a later date.
Weather – The weather can be extremely cold and wet. If you plan to do join us be aware that we will have this program regardless of weather.
Public- We will be representing the NPS and they have high expectations of anyone who represents them. Please be willing to talk with the park’s visitors. This is main reason for wanting people of A.C. quality.
Requests- If you or your mess would like to represent one of the named units we will try our best to accommodate you if the numbers of people register will allow it. We will need full crews for the water battery program.
Registration- Registration will open in October.
