I've received a couple of emails about the event that concern the sutler's store. This post is going to serve as a reminder that all of the proceeds of the sutler's store will be donated to the site after the event is over.
Below are photos of a very small sampling of the items that will be stocked in the store. All of these are being made especially for this event.

Pipe tobacco with wax paper inner bags and period labels in place. Also showing one style of matches that will be available.

Paper needle case. These will have the label pasted in the blank spot on the front of the package that will state what size and type of needle is in the case. The packages are made of a cotton paper and are color fast.

Pistol cartridge packages with combustible paper cartridges, the packages will be manufactured like the originals with the pull wire and shellac'd paper over the wooden internal block. .44 calibre belt pistol cartridges also being made.

Enamelled pasteboard snuff boxes, varied graphics all dated pre-1860.

Several styles of bone pipe tampers carved by hand, this being one of the more exotic ones.
Japanned pipe tobacco tins, fishing hooks, clay pipes, foodstuffs, condiments made from period recipes, socks, ginger beer, and other 'beverages' will be on hand as well.
Beside these items, the sutler store will also carry a good assortment of 1861 specific propaganda stationary and covers as well as some that are Texas specific. Correct postage stamps will also be available. The sutler's store will double as a functioning post office during the event.
If you are interested in Texas history, Trans-Miss Civil War history, Antebellum Regulars, or historic preservation then send in your registration and don't forget to visit the sutler's store!
