  • Car pooling to the site

This is a little early, but people are coming from all across the US (whether by car or plane) and I thought this would be a good place to start carpooling discussions.

Rick Biddle has offered his vehicle for carpooling for anyone passing through the Kileen/Fort Hood vicinity.

San Antonio and Austin are two airports that I know we will be having participants arriving at, the San Antonio bunch already has a pretty good carpool going (4 or 5 people right now).

Those of you who are driving, this may be a good spot to find passengers for the ride down. If you are interested in attending, but don't know if you can afford the gas, post as well....people may be driving through your neck of the woods.

    [HOUSTON] TRI-WEEKLY TELEGRAPH, October 28, 1863,

    Wanted.

All ladies in Houston and surrounding counties who have cloth on hand, which they can spare, are requested to donate it to the ladies of Crockett for the purpose of making petticoats for the Minute Men of this county, who have "backed out" of the service. We think the petticoat more suitable for them in these times.

We have 1-2 spots available for people passing through the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Send me a PM if you plan on flying into DFW, or will be driving through there and are interested in carpooling.

An addition to the car pooling situation...The event starts on Friday morning, with folk traveling in from hours away (or DAYS away) would the Fort be accommodating to folk coming in on Thursday at all hours?

People can arrive as early as they would like during the week of the event.

I fly into Austin from Idaho on Monday, visit with family and will leave for the event mid-afternoon on Thursday. I can take a couple of comrades from the Austin area. I would need you to drive up to the Georgetown area (my parents' house) and we can head out from there, and then return Sunday.

I still have five empty seats for folks passing by the Killeen/Ft Hood area.

              Raul,
Is that space for five in a U-Haul trailer?

                  Tom,
Knowing the way Raul is, he would put about 30 in a U-Haul trailer.
