  • 2012 in the East vs two in the West

In order to work on my kitchen passes for events in 2012 for the 150th.
Background........I have heard of a working realtionship between groups int he East and those in the Wes,t to support each other, (which I believe is a good thing). With one big event being held in the East and one in the West.

I already for Shiloh, however what is being thought of or about for in the East for 2012.
I saw this in regards to Sharpsburg, "No Big Antietam Battle Re-enactment Planned", ..... http://baltimore.cbslocal.com/2011/0...planned-in-md/ .....

Only other event I know of that could have a large pull would be Perryville.

Just thinking out loud while bored at work........

Updated information on Blue Gray Alliance 150th Shiloh:
A bit of information I thought you all needed to see. Please keep this in mind as you speak and listen to your folks talk about all the 150 th events that are springing up all over the country.

The original Fallen Timbers Battlefield has been purchased by the Civil War Trust and will be the location for our Friday Battle. This parcel will be used, probably for the last time for any reenactments as it is my understanding it will be turned over the the Shiloh NP soon after this tremendous battle recreation on actual ground. This is the location that Nathan Forrest actually charged the Federal Army under Gen. Sherman as they were pursuing Gen. Buell. Forrest was wounded on the very road that you will be fighting on. The Federals (infantry and cavalry) will enter from the North as they did originally and will be met by CS infantry as well as over 100 CS cavalry. A number of CS will be arriving from the march from Corinth and will arrive on this field in time to join the battle in progress and assist in pushing the Federals back to the North.

In cooperation with our friends at the Shiloh NP, every details and every effort is being done to make this as factual and authentic as possible. While the guidelines are not as stringent as the Paddlewheel but working very hard to make this correct.

This is just one of the battles scheduled and just one of the fields you will be on over the three days of fighting and living as true Living history reenactors.

WE will most likely be the last to march, eat, sleep, and fight on this hallowed ground. Not near, next to, close by , resembling, but the same ground our forefathers fought and died on… You will be sleeping on or about the exact location of the CS field hospital of the day of the battle.

You will also note from the pictures posted on the BGA Shiloh (http://www.facebook.com/events/222333837790441/) web site as well as this video, it is pristine .

The video features NPS Ranger Stacy Allen. Great information and
