Great to see the momentum start to pick up. I'll be sending another round of recruitment e-mails out pretty soon. I'll attach the registration form to the e-mail for easy access. If anyone has any questions about the 48th Tn. for this event, feel free to contact me at: 1861-1865@usa.net .

For those men who enjoyed Perilous Times at South Union, allow to me admit to having made a mistake when describing the Ft. Donelson event prior to us parting on Sunday Morning.
I was wrong when I responded to a question regarding the use of Enfields for this event. I stated that they were not permitted. I now stand corrected.

Enfields are on the Impression Guidelines, and will be allowed.

I have no doubt that Jerry and John (as well as I) prefer to be more inclusive than exclusive, and want men of the right attitude for this event. If you do not have a an 1842, or earlier model rifle, then an Enfield will be more than welcome.

For those whom had asked. Are Flintlocks and Shotguns allowed?

            The answer is Yes!

But.... they can not fired during the demonstrations on the National Battlefield grounds.

Bet those flintlocks and double barreled shotguns fired a few rounds of Southern lead poisoning on the Battleground between 800 and 1500 hours on Feb. 15, 1862. I will plan to bring an 1840's era shotgun.
