  • NCO Uniform Regs?

For NCO's, do we want trouser stripes?

    Thanks!

I'm sure Matt will confirm but I am 99% sure he did request them. I know my orderly just finished organizing some bulk orders for the K company NCO's.

Yeah, I had a recollection to that effect, but couldn't find confirmation in my old emails or searching threads on here.

            1.5" for sergeants is $6.50/yard.
            0.5" for corporals is $2.95/yard.

Two yards should be more than enough for all but the most "Paul Bunyonesque" among us.

Yes, to trouser stripes. The color guar will be wearing them and I had sent Matt an e-mail last fall and he said yes.

                A nice example to follow:

Look at the high resolution photos and you'll see the Wooded Hamlet worsted tape is a great match.

Nice...those are the Martin trousers that I reproduce and I've even had a chance to study them up close (fun fact: there's two names written inside in pencil) Strips of dark blue kersey or broadcloth pieced together would also work.

I was told in August that our NCOs were to have trowser stripes, the thought being that this is a regiment straight from training and uniform issue at Benton Barracks.

Just ordered my tape from Needle and Thread, the lady told me it must be something happening as I was the second person that had called from Mississippi this morning ordering this. Told here it was for the 150th Shiloh event next month. Nice folks to deal with.

I second about Needle and Thread. I ordered mine on Monday evening and received it today, well packaged, along with some logwood thread that I did not find on their website but which they had in stock. Very, very nice woman I dealt with.

The trowsers looks great with the stripes on them. Just making sure though, we're not going to be putting stripes on overcoats, are we? I know its the regulations, but I've seen very few images that show this. I would assume we are not, but I just wanted to make sure.

Glad to see you guys getting it done right with the trouser stripes! I'd skip the overcoat stripes. It may be so warm you won't want an overcoat at all.

Thought I'd share some of my preparations.

Fatigue blouse with NCO stripes, by Jordan Ricketts

Trousers with NCO stripes (1.5" worsted wool twill tape from Wooded Hamlet/Needle & Thread)

                              Detail of the tape

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone in Tennessee in just a few weeks!
