    Re: Shiloh T-shirt

Since this is a preservation effort for the 15th's colors, here's a suggestion for the front :

    15thIowaFlags.jpg

I don't recall where I found it a while back. It may have come from the regimental history.

      Re: Shiloh T-shirt

An an FYI, information I turned up from original deeds of trust on the steamer Minnehaha indicate:

The Minnehaha Steamer was a packet, side wheeler with wooden hull; she was launched at Guyandotte, Virginia 1857. She was destroyed by fire May 13th 1865 in New Orleans.

      MINNEHAHA
      Type: Sidewheel, wooden hull packet.
      SIZE: 236' X 36.5' X 6.5
      531 tons
      Power: 4 boilers, each 46" X 30'.
      Launched: 1857, Guyandotte, Va.
Destroyed: 1865, May 13, New Orleans, burned.
      Area of Operations:
      1857-1862, St Louis-St. Joseph, Mo.
      1862 -1865 St. Louis-New Orleans, Paducah, Ky.
      Owners: 1857, M.A. White
      1862-65, Capt. David White
      Captains: 1857-1862, C. Baker
      1862, David White

Just thinking that perhaps the illustration chosen should be of a side wheeler and not a stern wheeler if that matters to anybody.

That's a nice idea Silas, or even if it could be a picture of the 15th's colors alone. I would add a tag line for the 15th as well.

          Silas,
That's a great image! Perfect design for the front. Dr. Robert Welch has recently obtained copies of letters belonging to a soldier in Co. C and we have chosen a line from his letters to use. Let me tell you all it is perfect!

What is going to happen from here is all of your feed back will be taken and used to generate three options which will be posted here for your vote. The "winner" will be the final product and available for pre-order. If not pre-ordered, they will be available in limited supply at the event. Please continue to provide your thoughts, and expect to see a poll within the next 10 days. I appreciate everyone's input!

Yes, that image is from one of the inside pages of the regimental history.

Not sure Mark. They have a folder here on the AC, but you're in the wrong folder to ask that question. Hope that helps.

We may only have two options to vote on. I got some good feedback from the vendor, and we're a touch limited due to the detailed images we have.

I am in favor of having the 15th Iowa Colors on the shirt, Date, with Pittsburgh Landing. If I am over looking the poll to vote let me know. Nothing like seeing the colors flying in the wind to get one's blood up!
