  • Shiloh T-shirt

    All,
I am wanting to see what the interest might be for a t-shirt commemorating our grand adventure in Tennessee. It is a simple design, and would be on a pre-order basis with ALL PROCEEDS going towards the Iowa Battle Flag Project. Mod's feel free to move this question where you think it should go.

    Thank you!

        Thanks Robert,
I have the back done, but we're working on the front. An example WILL be posted within the next week. Thanks!

It sounds like a great way to raise more money for the Iowa flag project. And it would be fun to wear.

                Re: Shiloh T-shirt

Several years ago, several of us took part in a march up in Des Moines IA to raise money for this flag project. I had so much fun the first time (despite the snow) that I took the trek again for another march. I would be willing to buy a T-shirt to help with this effort. At least this way it will save me from getting blisters again.

Here is the idea for the back of the shirt. We're designing an image for the front left breast, and will most likely be the silhouette of 1-4 soldiers representing the front rank of the color guard and holding the stand of colors. Nothing fancy, but modern looking and unique at the same time. I welcome anyone's input on what you'd like to see!

                      Re: Shiloh T-shirt

Count me in, I would add something about the 15th and 16th Iowa also.

After rereading the many threads on this Adjunct I think perhaps it should remain Pittsburg Landing without mention of the units portrayed.
The purpose of this project is as I understand it is to raise money. If the shirt is to reflect a specific unit then perhaps those of the Cavalry, Confederate Adjunct and the Citizens of Purdy who are coming from this forum may feel left out.
The only logical answer is to include all units being portrayed or as I think best keep it simple and plain.
As for the title I think what this battle is called in the OR's should be what is used.
                      Just my wooden nickle,

I've always been partial to Bernard Perlin's [I]Americans Will Always Fight for Liberty[I] World War II poster. It says 1778-1943 and shows "ghostly" Continental Army soldiers watching some WWII guys march past. It would be a more involved art piece, but an interpretation of it with something like 1862-2012 might be cool. No matter what the final design--count me in.

I like the shirt. Maybe adding a top line that says "15th Iowa Infantry" then Pittsburg Landing, 9- 6- 1862. Just my input.

I would be in for a shirt, and I am sure my pard coming along would want one as well.

I do agree with having something in regards to a paddle wheeler.

Am I the only person who wishes this shirt would also mention the name 'Shiloh'? I think I'd buy one.
