The Resaca State Battlefield site will have a special opening on May 16-18th, 2014 for those attending the Battle of Resaca reenactment. Walking tours are available on friday before our activities start at the adjunct camp.
TWO WEEKS LEFT TO REGISTER FOR THE 150th BATTLE OF RESACA FEDERAL, CAMPAIGNER ADJUNCT!!! Registration closes April 25th!
SCAR is hosting the Federal, Campaigner Adjunct at the 150th Battle of Resaca. Our weekend includes:
- Friday you can tour the original battlefield as a special guest to tour the new State Battlefield site before fit open officially!!! A walking tour of the new site is available. The site will only be open May 16-18th until it officially opens at a later date!
- portrayal of the 70th IN regiment, including a scripted taking of Van den Corputs battery for the public.
- Campaigner College 2014 offering classes that cover fieldcraft, NCO school and civilian topics. This will occur Sat. 10 am-noon and open to all. (including sale of the newly, revised and re-released 'Campaigner College Handbook 2014').
- Regimental sutlerJoe Smotherman
- period rations per Commissary Sgt Jordan Ricketts
- Regimental medical demonstration by David Furukawa
- period camping experience on the actual Resaca battlefield on a beautiful camp site on 'Bald Hill' (shaded, campaigner-friendly, adjacent to all other event activities.
