Michael
You want enticement????? How 'bout riding a "real big" horse and shooting a smaller gun??? I am needing some good troopers to hold back the blue hordes at PM. Your life will never be the same.
Heck, Patrick, you come on over, too. We're doing one of the companies under Dibrell. You fellas and your enfields would fit in really nicely.

Horses hate me Mark. I'd be willing if you can find me some old nag two steps from the glue factory maybe. I had enough of getting kicked, thrown and raked under and against trees in my younger days. That's something I haven't done in the hobby though.

Michael,
You can always email that event coordinator for contacts. But, to head that off, I send you an email with Clint's email addresss.
Also, CS cavalry and artillery are INVITE ONLY through Mark Choate (cav) and Clint Morris (artillery). When registration opens, you must contact them for these roles. I'll say this. The artillery roles are pretty much taken care of by Clint, and are super limited in space, so bring your musket.

I had a great site walk with Ranger James Wooten at the park today. Camp Sites are set, water drops are set, parking and registration areas are set. The time table for the event, especially Saturday of the event, was reviewed. We have some very exciting scenarios, and engagements from the ORs and personal accounts that we are incorporating in the 150th event.
I will say this. Be able to march with your gear on. Shoot for being able to march 4 or 5 miles without issues BEFORE coming to the event.
We are on hallowed ground lads, be able to do the event properly.
Registration will open in later October. We are getting close to 10 companies per regiment for the event. Outstanding men! There is room for a few more per side. So, if you think you can raise a 15-18 ish man company for Johnnny or a 20-22 ish man company for Billy, contact me.
I will leave you all with this photo from the Visitor Center:

Any musicians planning on attending this event? I will likely be coming as will my son who is a drummer as part of the ONV Coy. It would be great to field some authentic music, though I recognize it will be challenging in the woods to march to any martial beat.
Looking forward to this one. A "gut check" event is always fun!

Ivan, great point about the musicians. The accounts of Marcus Woodcock of the 9th Kentucky Inf (US) states that there was TOO much field music being played as Wood and Johnson's Divisions went overland fromm the Federal New Hope lines to where they eventually ran into the Confederate froces. You son will be most welcome as a field musician, and will get ample playing time.
