That list looks more like a police blotter - especially the NCO's.

Just a couple of things before our living history next month:
      1. First Person: The Hairy Nation prides itself with excellent first person skills. We expect all participants to engage in 19th century(1864) talk. If you need to talk modern please leave the camp area and talk in hushed tones. This does not apply when talking to the public. Please break character to answer questions.
      2. Cell phones/cameras: Please leave cell phones in your vehicles. We will be close enough that you can ask to leave camp to check for calls etc. Patrick Landrum will have a phone on him in case of an emergency. But as stated before your vehicles will be very close.
Cameras: We will have two people taking pictures of the company throughout the weekend. Please leave your cameras in your wagon. We will post these online.
      3. Remember that we will be camping at Tour Stop #2.

Who is up for BBQ before the event?

Come by to one of Georgia’s best barbecue restaurants. Just outside of Atlanta, you can smell the delicious hickory smoke leading you to the little shanty restaurant in Kennesaw, GA.

As of right now we have 35 men who are registered for Kennesaw. I have to say I am humbled by the support of these men! I talked with the Kennesaw Historian on Monday and he is very excited for us to come down and for the programs they have scheduled. Just a reminder the NPS moved all Union troops to Tour Stop #2. Read the above for the information and check Facebook. I will be posting soon information for writing letters.

We would like to have a mail call on Saturday. You can do one of two things: 1. Write yourself a letter. I usually write one and have my wife rewrite it. 2. Pick a name from our roster and write them a letter. You should address your letter as follows:
                      Private Headlog
                      Company H 40th Indiana
                      2nd Brigade 2nd Div 4th Army Corps.
Once at the event give the letters to me.

Re: 40th Indiana Company H Living History June 27-29, 2014 Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield Park

Those of you who have contacted me about bringing items to the event or if you are interested in them, please send me some sort of confirmation by tomorrow so I can plan and allocate accordingly.

I have had more interest than I have items that I can bring or make in time for the event, but expressing interest or inquiring about something is not a commitment. Communication indicating you want something and working out payment with me is, however, so if you are still undecided, contact me sooner rather than later or you may find yourself out of the running for these items. I stand behind my work and you will not be disappointed.

Check the Facebook page if you want to see what is currently available. I can and will take orders at the event, but arranging delivery on some of these items may be difficult as shipping them may drive up costs significantly.

Looking forward to seeing you all in a few short days.

If you could bring them, that'd be great! I can sew them on once I get there, no problem.

John, PM me your mailing address and I'll just drop them in the mail to you so you don't have to spend time at the event sewing them on.
