I'm not Australian, but I was born in England, and lots of my ancestors were apparently slow and wound up in Australia. The Black Hat Boys mess of the Armory Guards is forming Company "TBD":D for this event, (I'm still looking for TBD hat brass to issue out. ) I can promise a damn good time with a good bunch of boys. I happen to have the two best camp chefs in the business in my company, Messr's Chad Phillips and Chadd Wilson ("Single D" and "Double D").

I also throw down a challenge to the other company commanders for the marksmanship competition. I wager one period bottle of spirits that my company has the finest enlisted marksman in the battalion. I have to say "enlisted" because Brian Hicks is an unholy rifle shot, Oy!

Gentlemen, what say you?

A few announcements:

1) We are a "GO" for January 30-February 1 for this event.

2) Registration will be open by the end of the week. Look to your Company Commanders for registration packets.

3) Get excited, and start building your impression. RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH.

4) Lastly, if you want to raise a company and have not contacted me, PLEASE DO SO! If you can get 10 guys together who can meet the event standards, talk to me.

Hopefully, this late in the war, we'd have something other than corn likker for our starvation party... but popskull would do just fine in a pinch. Better than just ice water. :)

Gentlemen,

(And I use that phrase loosely),

Just a reminder that the sutler tent will have everything you need that the government will not provide you. Candles, matches, tobacco, pipes, pipe tampers, braces, belts, knit goods, confections, canned meats, soups and vegetables, as well memorandums, pencils, soaps, towels, combs and mirrors and tinware. If you need something, come ask the sutler. My shelves are fully stocked.

I source my items from well-known quality vendors, including AC Approved Vendors. If I were to name drop, I'd mention Utley, Caudell, Daley, Osman, Kindred, Koehn, to name just a few. Everything I sell is based on documentation and research. I copy original labels where available and create other labels based on researched information.

In addition to the items listed above, I will have several vintage/antique match safes and pipes. Match safes are priced at $25-$30 and pipes range from $10 to $60.

Gents,

I just want to make a few points. If you want to bring an A Frame tent to the event, feel free. Get your mess mates to pack them in! If you want to bring a few extra blankets, feel free. There is also deadfall around our camp area for forming shelter frames, and sturdy structures. You will need to bring your own axes, saws, and rope. The weather looks to want to be typical as per usual with the last 5 years, so please plan accordingly. There is no reason anyone should get soaked or be cold.
