CS Adjunct For OTR Hampton's Legion

Just a quick notice as we are starting to build the team. We will be putting together a representation of Hampton's Legion. As with past events we will do a good job of mimicking the actual events that unit took for the campaign.

I have already reached out to individual companies and messes. Just a notice on here. Right Now there is no official chain of command. I believe you must form the team before you can say who/what is leading it. As most of you know I don't surround myself with a large staff, yet prefer to build the team from the ground up. Most CS leaning units have already expressed interest. Please let me know if there are any questions I may answer. most know me on Face Book.

Gents, I would like to elaborate on the impression guidelines a little more from what is on the Facebook page.

Headwear - Kepi (South Carolina variety preferred) or plain jean will suffice
Civilian

Coat - Frock coat with or without collar trim like the Bomar Frock preferred
Commutation/homemade jacket

Trousers - Richmond pattern
Commutation/homemade
Absolutely no US issue.

Shoes - CS Issue
Civilian shoes or boots
(US issue only as a last resort)

Shirt - CS Issue or English import
Civilian
NO US issue

Drawers - Civilian

Socks - Cotton or woolen

Haversack - Painted CS Issue (A.H. Bailey)
Civilian (Moses Alexander, Yancy Dean)

Knapsack - English
Single Bag (Kibbler or Mexican War)
Hard pack
Bed Roll

Weapon - M1842 Springfield or Palmetto Musket
P53 British Rifle Musket
M1861 Springfield ONLY as a last resort

Cartridge Box - Richmond Issue
1839 Pattern .69 Cal. US Issue without US plates.

Cap Pouch - Richmond Issue
Early US 1845 or 1850 Pattern Neither of these should have rivets on the belt loops

Remember that no modern anachronisms are allowed. Yes this is an adjunct, but we are setting the bar and Company C is no exception. We will have a lot of eyes on us as the color company so we will set the example for the rest of the battalion.

Registration will be done through the main site. Battalion Cdr. is Skip Owens your command will be Company C Hampton legion.

Registration takes about five minutes and the cost is $20. Ration issue is still TBD.

After you register for the company please let me know so I can add you to the roster. Otherwise I have no way of knowing.

Gents, is there any additional info yet on the battalion or the event in general, aside from what is on the Endview Plantation website? For those of us who do not facebook (if info is otherwise there) it will be of interest.

Ben, just register through the event site. Hampton Legion Company C.
Food of some sort is going to be provided by the event Saturday night. Other than that bring your own rations.
