Found this while prowling the Official Records. It's from Series I, Volume 49, Part II Correspondence :

Circular.] Hdqrs Second Division, 13th Army Corps,
Before Blakely, Ala., April 8, 1865.

Brigade commanders will see that their brigades are supplied with axes and spades, in compliance with General Orders, No. 3, head quarters Thirteenth Army Corps, viz : One ax and one spade to each twelve men. Great care will be taken that the men have their clothing washed before marching. To this end inspections will be made and every man will be required to have the clothing on his person as well as that carried in his knapsack perfectly clean. It is doubtful if new clothing can now be procured, but it will be well to send in estimates for such as is necessary.

By order of Brig. Gen. C.C. Andrews :
        GEORGE MONROE,
        Assistant Adjutant-General
        Page link : https://books.google.com/books?id=ye...page&q&f=false

I found Part II while searching for Part I. The second part includes correspondence is pretty kewl because it goes day by day. The first part contains reports published by order of corps, division, brigades and regiments. That being said, I am still interested in a google link to Part I. If anyone can find a link to Part I, I'd appreciate the posting of a link in this thread.

Must have been a bunch of stinky guys so much so that they were ordered to wash their clothes... sad. ;)

I know Mobile, Alabama is an out-of-the-way location for most hobbyists as compared to other event sites, but THIS EVENT WILL BE WORTH IT when you see the ORIGINAL LAND, ORIGINAL EARTHWORKS, and ORIGINAL BATTLEFIELD YOU WILL BE PLAYING ON!!!
