    From Brian DesRochers

    From Brian DesRochers:

Just now getting in from the site doing prep. Many have asked for final details so here goes. Im pretty tired ao if I leave something out just ask.

Friday, everyone, all branches needs to be onsite and ready to go NO LATER THAN 5.
Late arrivals will be handled accordingly, but I must be contacted prior to that time. If I don't know I can't help.

Registration is 400 yds downhill from the park gatehouse. You will be directed to parking from there.

The federal column will step off at 530 on friday. The march will not kill you, but it isnt exactly a stroll in the park. Water will be staged at the start of the route/federal parking, and the buffalo will await you near your position, hidden in the woods so you dont have to look at it.

We go live at 530. We will remain in this state until the assault is over on saturday afternoon.

Firewood has been split and will be placed before the event. All troops are also expected to collect deadfall to supliment what is already there.

Everyone will work. You arent doing it for me, you are helping the park, and honoring the men who did the initial work 152 years ago. Each company will have their own project, your officers know the details. 1st/3rd Missouri, Abbay's Battery, I will brief you on friday afternoon concerning the details. Walter Cook, Joe Blunt will do the same for the 83rd Ohio & 15th Massechussetts Battery.

Rammers. We will be using them. COs, NCO, do your jobs and keep your eyes open. We are all veterans at this, act like it. Everyone will be inspected on friday. No BS, have a clean weapon and proper ammo.

Everyone will eat. This isnt Andersonville or the Bataan Death March.

Occasionally a stray minie ball is kicked up at the park. We are using the honor system. If you happen to find something, turn it in. It does nobody any good on your mantel and only helps the park.

The park has an entire day of events planned for the public. Spectators will be around. Ignore them until after the assault. Pretend they are not there. This is a siege, not the county fair.

Sunday morning the federals will march the CS garrison to the Stockton Road Redan area behind Redoubt #4, we will have a brigade formation, and parting words. After that, trucks and trailers will shuttle all federal infantry back to the march start point.

    NO females dressed as soldiers.

NO WALK ONS. If your name is not on my list, you may pay your $4.00 and tour the park, but not particpate in any way in this event.

Im sure I left something out.

    See everyone friday.

Everyone needs to shake Brian DesRochers' hand and thank him for the incredible amount of hard work he has put into this event over the past months. He has given his time, energy and soul to this project. The pictures I've seen of the site prep are nothing short of remarkable and inspiring.

I concur Joe. Not to mention the long-term improvements that will remain after the event is over. Looking forward to this weekend.
