TONIGHT AT 8:00 PM EASTERN, WE WILL HOLD A PRESERVATION AUCTION FOR BROWN'S FERRY!
Normally we don't allow auctions on this site but we're going to make an exception. Ivis Bradford of Preservation Parcels has put together two silk and wool flag housewifes, each one representing an opposing side. She is donating these for auction to benefit Brown's Ferry at Missionary Ridge.
Housewifes like these usually sell for over $100 and she is posting them here with No Reserve! The question remains, which side will donate more for a good cause? So let the bidding commence, and best wishes!
HERE ARE THE RULES:
- Send Your Bid - If you would like to join in, please send your name, bid, and choice of housewife to preservationparcels@yahoo.com and state for which housewife you are bidding. Example: $200 for Union Housewife.
- Updates - The bids will be posted on The Authentic Campaigner Forum and shared on social media.
- Closing the Auction - When no more bids on either housewife have been placed for 24 hours, we'll close the auction!
- Hours to Update Bids - Emailed bids will be added to the forum until 12 AM and will resume the next morning starting at 7 AM. You are welcomed to continue to email your bids to preservationparcels@yahoo.com. They just won't be updated on the forum until the morning.
100% of the proceeds will be donated to preservation of Brown’s Ferry through the American Battlefield Trust
EACH IS STOCKED WITH:
- Patches of FHW wool fabric, canton flannel, and more
- Antique brass pins

- Buttons: glass, bone, and paper-backed tin in a handsewn poke sack

Silk and wool housewife stores many things and conveniently rolls up to fit the size of your hand. The two pockets are 100% silk embroidery on 100% silk. When a housewife is claimed, I'll embroider the initials of your choice in silk on the needle pages and huckabuck towels.
From Ivis: "Missionary Ridge is important to my family as it holds a personal connection to my GGG Uncle John Kleckner, who was killed there on November 25, 1863. I am honored to help an event representing a place where so many Americans fought and where many gave the greatest sacrifice."
Bid early and bid often!
