Registration is getting filled up quickly! Osage County Regiment is full of well-armed and loyal citizens to the Union! Camden County is open for volunteers of all loyalties; whether it be to join the Confederacy, defend the county from outsiders, or stay neutral and keep both the Confederacy and the United States forces out of the State!
A local newspaper joked that the standard equipment for a soldier in the Missouri State Guard was “a quart of whisky, one loaf of bread, one pocket Bible, one Barlow knife, and one fine tooth comb.”
