  • Anyone Else Feel the Quake?

About 15 minutes ago, I was eating my cereal and surfing the web when I heard a creaking noise like a strong wind, then I felt the house shake pretty hard for about 3 seconds. It was strong enough to wake up my wife and daughter!

    Anyone else feel it?

...Update: The news is reporting it was centered in Illinois and was a 5.4 on the richter (sp?) scale.

Some people in the dorm did. I'm sure it'll be a big thing this morning on campus.

We felt it down our way in Elizabethtown, KY. I just thought it was Ft Knox, only people that live around Ft Knox would understand that...

As a longtime resident of almost-Ft. Campbell I think I have an idea, though I imagine helicopters don't make as much rumble as armor. On the issue at hand, I can attest that this morning's shake didn't make it to Lexington as far as I could tell... and, yes, I was awake at that dark and lonely hour, sad to say.

Yep, 4:47 am central time we felt it all the way in North Judson, which is an hour south of South Bend!

After watching the Discovery channel all the time about the BIG one that will hit between Memphis-St Louis fault line eventually...I thought after waking up and feeling this... that I would turn on Fox news expecting all of you guys around that region to be goners!

My dad is currently living in Louisville KY and it woke him up. Said in downtown a few streets were closed due to bricks falling off some older buildings. But nothing horrible that he knows of.
I also have some family that live in Evansville Indiana and they felt it!

Living just south of Elizabethtown, KY, I thought at first it was either Ft. Knox, as Jordan mentioned, or the Rock Quarry several miles down the road...only to turn the tube on and find out that it was a quake. Nice start to the morning to get me up and going.

A couple of friends from here at work said they felt it about 10 miles north of Nashville. Didn't feel anything in Franklin though. Glad to hear everyone is ok.

Well here in the namesake for the 'Big One', I couldn't tell you if it was felt or not - I was asleep! It was at 4:30 AM! What are you folks doing up feeling earthquakes at that hour for crying out loud!:)

I have three kids and a dog and I live a block away from a rail line and a grain elevator. I am desensitized to noises and rumbles . :)

Us Buckeyes in the Central Ohio area did not feel it. Yes, I was up - I work early hours.
