Re: Famous ancestors..whom have you met?

I went to my senior prom with the great-great(insert some other greats, probably) granddaughter of D.H. Hill. Even though she was born and raised in New York, her Daddy hated us Yankees.

Not a CW connection, but I had John Adams VI vomit all over me once at a fancy dinner party. THAT make history come alive like nothing else!

I once met, and shook hands with Colonel Paul Tibbets.

I'm the great-great-great grandson of this man- a conspirator in the Lincoln Assasination.

From the accounts of the trial, John Lloyd was a drunkard and only got off of all charges (and from being hung along with Mary Surratt et al.) because of circumstantial evidence as to whether or not he knew Mr. Booth and what he was up to.

Scary that if it wasn't for this man, I'd not be here today.

        Does this count? :p

I was fortunate to be friends with Frank Davis. Frank Davis was the great nephew of the young Hero Sam Davis "The boy hero of the Confederacy". Frank's grandfather, Oscar Davis, went to Pulaski to bring back Sam's body after he was hanged by the Federals.
We lost Frank a couple of years ago, however, I'm still in contact with his widow Mrs. Shirley Davis.
