  • Gettysburg Issue of Civil War News

Has anyone else seen the latest issue of CWN? In the special Gettysburg section there is an ad for what we are calling Girls Gone Wild ACW style. I realize that this paper is a money making venture but we sell it in our bookstore and it just is not what you think about when the word “Gettysburg” comes to mind.

Take a look, maybe I am over reacting.

Amen, 'Bro'. I couldn't believe it. Talk about minimalizing our history. Jeez.

As [one of our cavalry] passed by, the general halted him and inquired "what part of the army he belonged to." "I don't belong to the army, I belong to the cavalry." "That's a fact," says [the general], "you can pass on." Silas Grisamore, 18th Louisiana

From what I understand, it's an advertisement for a Civil War reality show called "Sabers and Roses", which is supposed to premier in August. I remember hearing about the casting calls for this.
