  • Owl Creek Movie, Cast and Crew DVD’s, looking for Ed Mantell

Last winter I finally mailed out the DVD’s to the cast and crew of “An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge”. I hope everyone who was expecting one received one. If you did not please let me know and I will send you one right away. I'm sorry it took me so long to do this.

I just re-joined this forum and have re-connected with a few gentlemen who were in the movie but their DVD’s were returned to me because I had an old address. I was glad to finally get those DVD’s sent out.

I have one fellow I’m still having trouble finding, Ed Mantell. I thought some of you might be able to send me some contact information for him. I sure would appreciate it.

I know this movie was done a long time ago – but I’m still thankful for everyone’s help. If anyone has any questions about the movie just let know – I would be happy to discuss it here or via email or via phone (734-564-5072).

I’m not doing anymore movies! That is a long story. I’m into food history now. I was back then too – but now it is really blooming.

    All my best to you,

    Susan Odom
(Who was/is the producer of “An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge”)

Is this the same "Occurrence" I saw as a Twilight Zone episode around 1964?

Yes - we did a remake several years back and some of the folks on this forum were part of that project. I was/am the producer. Making that movie was 'quite' a chapter in my life. It was distributed under the title "Ambrose Bierce: Civil War Stories" and is still available on amzon.com if you are interested. If you get/have the DVD our true version is the 'extra' on the DVD. The distributor allowed (without my permission or knowledge) an unauthorized, unprofessional edit of Owl creek to be included with the anthology. So catch the 'extra' to see what we actually produced.

            Susan,

I don't think that Ed Mantell and Edward Marhel are the same person. The last time that I spoke with Ed Mantell, he was working for Historical Entertainment. You might wish to contact them to see if you can get his current contact information:

Thanks Bill - I did not even notice the difference in the name. I will try to find Ed though Historical Entertainment as you suggested. Thanks!

Hey, this short story was in my 12th grade literature book, and I enjoyed it greatly. Are you, by any chance, selling these? PM me if you have any for sale.
