      Re: Riding the Storm Out.

      Thanks Brian,
I am in pretty good shape at this time. we are two hours north of New Orleans in an area that was known as "English Louisiana". What we have to deal with is trees down, no lights and water. We have a generator, a cow water troff for water to flush the tolet, chainsaws to cut our way out, and four wheelers to get to work....and the kids love MREs and bottle water.

We just have to go out like everyone else and buy up all you can in the stores because folks from New Orleans have been here for three days.

The 16th Louisiana put out an email last night requesting everyone to give a "Five Day Plan" so we can keep up with each other. My Reserve Hospital is on alert, My Brother and Nephew leave out Monday for the Coast.

Wonder about Landrum and the rest of the Coastaltrash?

I haven't heard from Landrum in a bit, maybe he will chime in. My parish (Calcasieu) has been ordered to evacuate today by noon. All of the major highways and interstates are in contraflow. At least my family can meet me at school, here in Natchitoches. Brother Beasley, good luck in the storm. We will all weather it together.

Brothers, we will be praying for you all, let us know if we can load up some stuff to bring or help out in anyway, or even a place to stay while all is going on. Feel free to contact me.

Take care and may this storm be calmed!

Even over here in the UK the news is all about Gustav. Having been through a few of the big ones myself, my prayers go out to all my Gulf Coast comrades. Hold fast.

                Dale/All in the Gulf Coast-

Good luck and I wish you well. I lived through Hugo at my family home in Myrtle Beach back in 1989 when I was 15 and we were devastated by that storm for quite awhile. I understand how hard it is. Not fun at all...

God be with you! Jesus will be your shelter.

Good luck and remember: Rouxbarbs only live in low lying areas Dale. Stay away from the rouxbarbs!

I have been praying for the area in general, and now specifically will add you.

                      Re: Riding the Storm Out.

Well, we just had our four-day weekend trashed, and are working twelve hour shifts generating C-130's down south for evacuation missions. I don't knwo if there's a sick senior citizen left in Beaumont right now. Our governor isn't messing around, and if that thing turns for Texas we'll be ready.

Looks like the LA Gov and NO mayor aren't taking chances this time either, as they're cattle-prodding their folks out of town too.

Dale, you circle the wagon around your folks if you get any of them NO evacuees up your way. Y'hea?

                            Everyone,

I am lucky that I live two hours north of New Orleans and about three from the Coast. The Boys from Hattisburg down to the water where Landrum lives will take alot. The Folks out of New Orelans, ie Ross Burkenstock, Young Benard, and others from the area have bugged out. My wife had to check on some property of hers in Jackson, MS today. She said it was wild. Her parents have a house in Baton Rouge but are heading out in the morning....The Boys from Texas may have their hands full.

This may go without saying, but if any of yall from the coast need a place to go to, and get up into Kentucky or Evansville Indiana, give me a call...I will be happy to put you up! And I am sure others on the AC would do the same! Best of luck yall!
