    Gentleman,
Recently Newsweek Magazine did an article on the south and politcs today. They were following Shermans March to the sea.Well for some reason they made their way to Point Park on Lookout Mtn(Chattanooga tn).My unit was doing a living history up there, and they interviewed us.They asked us questions about re-enacting and why we do it,and what we think about the upcoming elections.Basically they suckered us into thinking this was going to be a positive aritcle.Ok now i want to know what my brothers in the re-enacting world thinks about this article. Its the August 11th issue of newsweek. The article is titled Southern Discomfort.Check it out.

I read the article and the link to the online version, with the video interviews are also here. Nice how he took a 12year old off to the side to interview him.

Its a shame too, the reporter, Mr. Dickey, is the nephew of Tom Dickey author of Civil War Artillery Projectiles. Tom loved Artillery, loved relic-hunting, and loved the Civil War. I wonder what his take on this article would be.

      Modern politics.

      Not A/C forum material.

Pack a chaw and find a stump in the All Politics Social Group.

          Brian-

I agree, this is modern politics and inappropriate for the forums. But it is debatable and does have relevance to our hobby...

Before a mod canks this thread due to modern politics... you can bring it over to the Politics social Group for discussion. We don't bite... normally. ;)

For the record, I have read this article before and know the author seems to have a love for liberal Democrats and Obama.

Just another sensationalistic smear campaign to sell a liberal magazine (Newsweek... very liberal from what I have read in the past), if you ask me...

Friend, I'd move this ASAP if I were you. We can talk it over in the social groups.

          Thanks- Johnny Lloyd

If I had my way, every newspaperman who stooped to the level this guy has would be hung from a tree branch by his thumbs. Then, he would get his a** blistered with a bodock switch (the ones with the 2 inch thorns). That's just my opinion, though.

                    Hallo!

                    Moderator hat on...

Sorry lads, it is, in the end more of a modern political discussion than a Civil War one.
