          Reenactor shot in Va. last weekend

          Don't know if you all saw this, but another shooting in our hobby (see link below). The commonality between this and the Frenchman at G'burg? Another yahoo with a pistol. We thoroughly check rifles (at least we do) but who checks sidearms?? I have almost never seen the inspecting officer take a look at officer's sidearms. From the article, one would assume that it was dismounted cav (which automatically puts a shiver down my back).

          Better figure they'll be going thru our boxes checking for lead for the next year or so...Guess another reason to be extra careful of strangers trying to fall in with your unit!

              The shooting of a would-be Yankee cavalryman from the Bronx during the filming of a Civil War re-enactment in Virginia in September has been solved, according to the authorities.
