Well, I finally broke down and bought a repro Starr .44 double-action from Dixie Gunworks. Been meaning to get one for some time - first off, it's a neat gun (IMHO), and second, I believe E.T. Starr was a distant relative of mine. I bought the gun mainly as a fun shooter, but I was wondering - does anybody currently make a period-correct holster for this gun? It hasn't arrived yet, so I can't compare it to my 1860 Colt repro, but I'm guessing the standard Colt/Remington single-action holster won't easily accomodate the Starr's odd shape.

I know Don Smith of Trans-Mississippi Depot Carries an original Star at some events. I'm sure he could hook you up with a proper star holster.Troy Groves "AZReenactor"
