Can anyone point to any period illustrations, drawings, articles, photograph of army hardtack?

    Thanks,

There is a great period illustration in Hardtack and Coffee on page 114 that he lists as full size. I believe there is also an image of a soldier holding up a piece in Strayers Atlanta Campaign book.

          Cool,

Does anyone have a scan of the Hardtack & Coffee illustration they can e-mail me? For some reason I don't have that book.

Are you interested in pics of hardtack itself? I have a modern picture of original hardtack.

You also want texts on Hardtack?
Otherwise there is also a small drawing in page 136 of " Detailed minutiae of soldier life " ANV on 1861-1865 of McCarthy, but the scalle seems to me strange vs corn?!

                        Gentlemen,

Thank you very much! I have an original piece of hardtack, I just wanted a good illustration to frame with it.
