1851 Federal Frock Coat Construction

I am contemplating making an M1851 frock coat. However other than period images I am not able to find very much information on the the coat. Studying the pictures and period tailoring manuals I have a general idea of the construction of the coat. What I am most curious is how this model of frock coat was lined. Was it the same as the 1858 frock coat? Or was the coat fully lined like citizen coats of the time? Also what sort of materials would be best for lining and are there original examples found with machine sewing? I look forward to hearing what you all have to say!
