  • Looking for Army of Tennessee print of Hood's retreat

    Hello all,

Triviality aside, I once came across a painting/print of a lone ragged Confederate AOT soldier walking in the snow upon Hood's retreat from Nashville, late Winter, 1864. The poor soldier was hunched over eating some tack and looked soo tired and hungry. The painting quality was quite good which makes me wonder if it was one of the big name artists. It really was a powerful image and the 'feel' for this scene was authentically expressed.. but I can't seem to get the search engines to conjure it back up.

    Any leads?

Hey Jon, I think this might be the one you are referring to, but not sure. This is the only one I can think of and was painted by Mr. Troiani.

    Hope this helps bro.

It is included in Don's book titled "Regiments and Uniforms of the Civil War"
